A St. Albert man has been charged alongside two others in connection with a seven-month-long drug trafficking investigation. The trio are facing charges following the seizure of over $400,000 in drugs and cash by Edmonton police.

In September 2021, the Edmonton Police Service drug and gang enforcement section (EDGE) began an investigation and found two men were using an apartment suite in the Delwood neighbourhood of Edmonton to allegedly store and process cocaine and methamphetamine.

On March 30, police executed two search warrants, one at a home in St. Albert and one at a home in the McConachie neighbourhood, where a variety of drugs and cash were found. Police seized 2.6 kilograms of cocaine, and another two kilograms of cocaine found in a hidden compartment of a Nissan Murano, $43,000 in cash, and a variety of drug paraphernalia and items consistent with the sale and distribution of controlled substances.

Acting Insp. David Paton with the organized crime branch said the accused are known by police and are linked to a former investigation.

“While I cannot comment specifically on other trafficking activities the accused may be linked to, I can confirm that these individuals are known to police and are part of another investigation in which a large number of firearms and bulk cash was seized from several hidden compartments in vehicles,” said Paton.

Jensen Tran, 34, of St. Albert, Steven Lam, 34, and April Goodson, 31, both of Edmonton, are facing 11 charges, including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.
