A St. Albert couple died Sunday when their motorcycle collided with a pickup truck outside Stony Plain.
Diane and Edward Rensch were travelling northbound on Highway 33 on a Harley Davidson motorcycle when a southbound pickup truck attempted to turn east on Township Road 564.
Emergency crews responded to the call within minutes, but pronounced Edward dead at the scene. He had been driving the motorcycle.
His wife, Diane was rushed to hospital on a STARS air ambulance, but died a short time later.
The pickup truck driver was physically unhurt. While the investigation is ongoing, weather and alcohol have both been ruled out as factors.
