On Thursday, the St. Albert ArtWalk committee decided to cancel the annual ArtWalk event in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We truly thank everyone for their support and hope that you will be able to join us for the St. Albert ArtWalk in 2021,” the committee said in a Facebook post.

“If you are still interested in supporting the St. Albert arts community at this time we encourage you to visit our supporting venues once they have re-opened or consider purchasing art from some of our incredible local artists,” the post said.

The St. Albert ArtWalk has run for over 15 years in downtown St. Albert, where the work of local artists is featured in venues throughout the downtown core.

It had been slated to run May to September on the first Thursday of each month between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
