It can be easy to take for granted the safety and cleanliness of St. Albert, but it doesn't happen without the hard work of many. The chamber of commerce is proud to host RCMP Insp. Warren Dosko and City of St. Albert specialist Colleen Lamble as they discuss the planning and programs that have been developed to prevent graffiti from becoming a big problem in our community. Visible graffiti is often a warning of much larger problems for a community that leaves it unchecked. To attend this informative Business @ Lunch, please call the chamber of commerce at 780-458-2833, or email [email protected]. The meeting is at Cornerstone Hall on Taché Street, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 10.
Message from the chair
I am pleased to announce that the first event of the 2010 Healthy Business Challenge is under way today and sold out with 24 teams participating. Come down to the curling rink and cheer on your favourite team as we begin the quest for this year's champion. Next up is bowling May 13. It will surely be another sell-out, so get the team from your business entered today.
As we "Spring into Spring," our Lifestyle Expo is rapidly approaching. All the favourites are back, including St. Albert Idol, the Wii contest, the petting zoo and much more to provide an incredible family experience. This year the expo also includes many new exhibitors, showcasing the latest cutting-edge products and services with an expanded floor plan at Servus Credit Union Place. With all the events on the performance stage, the fabulous door prizes and the return of the outdoor displays, this year is shaping up to be the biggest show ever. Some booth space is still available on a first come-first serve basis. Call Debbie for more information.
And finally, thank you to all those that attended our Women in Business series in February. It was a great evening of networking featuring a motivational speaker, eyewear from The Eye Care Group, fashions from Sublime Swim and Sunwear, tans from Aurora Sun, hair design from Bliss Hair by Design and service by tuxedo-clad butlers — does it get any better? This has become a must-attend event so don't miss the next one on May 20,featuring Ruth Kelly from Alberta Venture Magazine. Contact the chamber office for tickets.
