A St. Albert RCMP officer got more than he bargained for when pulling over a speeding vehicle at 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 7. During the traffic stop the RCMP received a report of a break and enter that had just occurred at Extreme Pita on St. Albert Trail. After further investigation it was revealed that the driver was also a suspect in the incident at Extreme Pita where a window was smashed and a till broken open.

Nathan Adam Lee of Vimy, Alta., was charged with break and enter, possession of break-in tools, disguise with intent, mischief and two counts of failing to comply with conditions of a recognizance. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in St. Albert on Sept. 12, 2016.

The St. Albert RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance to identify a man who shoplifted a Star Wars BB-8 RC Droid. On Sept. 4 at 5:54 p.m. a male entered London Drugs at St. Albert Centre and took the $189.99 droid out of the box and stuffed the item in his front sweat pants pocket. The man then proceeded to exit the store without making any attempts to pay for the item.

The suspect is described as an approximately 40-year-old Caucasian male. He’s about five-feet eight-inches tall and 240 pounds with a light brown and red beard. He was seen wearing black sandals, black sweat pants, a white jersey with black and grey stripes and the number 47 on the back. He also was wearing a brown hat with a red and black Star Wars Rebel Alliance logo on the left front side.

Sometime overnight on July 20, an unknown offender broke into a vehicle that was parked on Lambert Crescent and stole a black Fit4less gym bag with a pair of grey Vibram Fivefinger shoes and a custom knee brace valued at $1,500.
