A collision between a motorcycle and a pick-up truck last Friday afternoon has claimed the life of a 36-year-old man.
The crash happened on Highway 2 near Township Road 564 in Sturgeon County. The motorcycle was headed northbound when it struck the truck, which was attempting to make a u-turn. The driver of the pick-up was treated on scene.
Morinville RCMP continue to investigate.
A 36-year-old man has been charged with robbery following an incident last Thursday at the Giroux Esso at Giroux Road and St. Albert Trail in St. Albert.
At approximately 8:20 p.m. St. Albert RCMP received a report of an attempted robbery at the Esso. A 38-year-old man from St. Albert said that a blonde-haired male in his 30s had held a knife toward him, demanding the keys to his car. The suspect fled when the demand was refused.
RCMP officers searched the area but weren’t able to locate the suspect until approximately 1 a.m. Friday after receiving a report of a suspicious male sleeping in the lobby of the Citadel Mews Care Centre.
Jason Riley-Zwicker of no fixed address, has been charged with one count of robbery. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 22.
