A Morinville woman who kept animals in “deplorable” conditions in her home is facing five animal-abuse charges.

A media release from Morinville RCMP indicates police, in conjunction with Morinville Enforcement Services, executed a search warrant at a Morinville home.

Several animals were seized due to the “overall deplorable living conditions,” and turned over to the Morinville Veterinary Clinic for treatment and care.

Carli Gold, 26, was charged criminally with cruelty to animals, and also faces four related counts under the Animal Protection Act of Alberta. She is scheduled to appear in Morinville Provincial Court tomorrow, June 16.

St. Albert police are trying to identify the culprit(s) responsible for the theft of a boat and trailer from a St. Albert business park.

Sometime between May 27 and May 31, a boat and trailer was stolen from the Riel RV Storage Park.

The boat is described as an 18-foot Grew GRS sports boat, having a black hull, and white on the upper part of the boat, with a white Evinrude outboard motor.

The trailer it was on had an Alberta licence plate number Y73415.

Police are trying to solve a rash of thefts from vehicles that happened overnight on May 28.

The vehicles that were broken into include: a white 2003 Mazda Protégé parked on Rayborn Crescent with nothing stolen; a black 2011 GMC Sierra on Kingston Close from which a company cheque and several credit cards were stolen, a gold 2005 GMC Canyon parked on Kingsford Crescent had an iPod, sunglasses and university books stolen; and a White 2005 Toyota Tundra parked on Karlyle Court had registration and insurance papers stolen from it.

St. Albert RCMP remind residents to keep valuables out of their vehicles, and to keep their vehicles locked whenever they’re left alone even for a short time.

St. Albert police are looking for a bike that was stolen in early May.

On May 5, someone took a white Carrera Tahoe men’s mountain bike from in front of a house in North Ridge. Police have so far been unable to recover it.

Anyone with information about these or any other crimes is asked to contact St. Albert RCMP at 780-458-7700 or Morinville RCMP at 780-939-4550. Tips can be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
