Morinville RCMP are looking for the public’s help to identify three suspects involved in stealing an ATM from a Sturgeon County gas station last week.
Police responded to a break-in at the Al Razzaq Food and Gas convenience store located west of the intersections of highways 2 and 37, around 4 a.m. last Friday, May 20. The ATM, cash and cigarettes were stolen.
The unknown individuals broke into the store through the glass on the front door. One suspect threw a rope over the ATM and the driver pulled the ATM out. Another suspected grabbed packs of cigarettes and the cash register filled with an unknown amount of money.
All three suspects were wearing clothes that covered their face and hands.
The first suspect is described as male about five-feet, nine-inches to six-feet tall, with a stocky build, wearing a plaid, checkered jacket with a white hoody, jeans, and dark boots.
The second suspect is a male about six-feet tall with a medium build, wearing dark overalls with a light hoody underneath, dark gloves and dark boots.
The third suspect, gender unknown, is about five-feet, eight-inches tall with a heavy build, wearing a light-coloured hoody, dark gloves, baggy pants and dark boots.
Two men were arrested on several outstanding charges each following a traffic stop in Sturgeon County.
Morinville RCMP assisted a Capital Region Integrated Traffic Services member in arresting the two men during a traffic stop on Highway 44 south of Villeneuve around 3:20 p.m. last Wednesday, May 18.
The two occupants were wanted on outstanding warrants from several jurisdictions in the Edmonton area and around Alberta.
The 53-year-old driver failed to provide his name, and police investigated. Kevin James Roth of Edmonton was charged with obstructing a peace officer, driving while disqualified, and breaching recognizance conditions, and three violations of the Traffic Safety Act. He is scheduled to appear in Morinville Provincial Court May 26.
The 48-year-old passenger, Wally Allan Gerrior of Spruce Grove, had outstanding warrants stemming from charges out of Whitecourt, including uttering threats and weapons-related charges. He was charged with three new counts of breaching recognizance. He’s scheduled to appear in Morinville Provincial Court June 2.
Police say the outcome of this traffic stop is in line with the department’s annual performance plan, which includes arresting prolific offenders who fail to comply with court orders.
