Morinville RCMP arrested three suspects involved in a series of thefts last week.

The suspects were entering unlocked vehicles and stealing their contents early last Tuesday morning. Morinville RCMP located the suspects’ vehicle and made a quick arrest after receiving a complaint of suspicious activity.

A man and woman from Barrhead and a man from Clyde were each arrested and charged with eight counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000 and one count of possession of break-in instruments.

The RCMP recovered stolen property from the Barrhead, Westlock and Spruce Grove areas.

The RCMP is reminding residents to lock their vehicles, store small items like sunglasses, money and electronics so they aren’t in plain view, take out all items of value, activate the alarm system in your vehicle and park in a spot with good lighting to prevent theft.

RCMP search for Superstore shoplifters

St. Albert RCMP need help indentifying two shoplifters.

A security guard from Superstore attempted to apprehend a male and a female for after an item from the store was stolen March 15, at approximately 2:35 p.m.

The suspects fled in a black four-door Nissan car and headed northbound on St. Albert Trail.

The male suspect is described as five foot seven inches, with an average build and balding light grey/blond hair. He was seen wearing a grey hoodie, black jacket and blue jeans.

The female suspect is five foot four inches and approximately 165 pounds, with bright, long red hair. She was wearing a white hoodie, black jacket and black pants.

Icy road conditions and steady snowfall on Monday resulted in an increase of collisions on St. Albert roadways.

St. Albert RCMP scrambled to respond to 19 reports of vehicle collisions.

Only two collisions involved injuries, which were described as non-life threatening in both cases.

The RCMP is reminding drivers to be cautious as Old Man Winter makes his retreat.

“Spring weather in Alberta can bring sudden changes to the driving conditions," said Cpl. Laurel Kading with the St. Albert RCMP.

"Slowing down and leaving at least 30 metres between vehicles will prevent rear-end collisions and make the roads safer for everyone."
