RCMP are looking for the public’s help identifying a man they say robbed a Morinville convenience store at knife-point.
At 4 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 22, RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Mac’s convenience store on 100 Street in Morinville.
A lone male wearing a black ski mask over his face came into the store, brandished a knife and demanded cash from an employee, who was co-operative and unharmed.
The male then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. He is described as wearing a dark-coloured jacket or sweater, dark-coloured pants and dark-coloured gloves.
Two Alexander First Nation men were arrested last week in connection with an armed robbery at a gas station in Sandy Beach.
Morinville RCMP responded to the reported robbery at 6 p.m. last Thursday, Jan. 21. Two male suspects, who covered their faces with bandanas, went into the store brandishing a machete. They stole six bottles of liquor then fled on foot. The employee, who was in the back area of the store, was unharmed.
The men were described as thin, wearing hoodie-style sweaters and covering their faces with bandanas.
Shortly after the complaint, police followed up with tips from the public and found the two suspects at a house on the First Nation. Both were arrested and taken into custody, and the investigation continues.
