Two Morinville parents have been charged with failing to provide the necessaries of life in the wake of their toddler’s drowning last July.
Edmonton RCMP have charged Trevor MacDonald, 42, and Robin MacDonald, 36, jointly, said an RCMP press release on Thursday morning.
Their two-and-a-half-year-old daughter Jade had been playing with her siblings at the park in The Lakes neighbourhood of Morinville on July 25, 2015.
She went missing and was found by an RCMP officer unresponsive in the waters of a nearby pond. Despite lifesaving efforts made by neighbours and emergency workers, she died at the scene.
An investigation was launched at the time. The MacDonalds are schedule to appear in Morinville Provincial Court on Aug. 4.
