In my opinion, a recent letter by Nathan Hebert offered a very valid perspective on the name-change debate. His references to history and museums are well-taken. I also endorse his view on the role of our elected officials on city council in such matters. That is, to strive to obtain as much information as is feasible before making decisions on our behalf, which I think members aspire to do.
In closing, I appreciate hearing from our residents who take the time to express well thought out opinions on matters of interest and importance to many of us through our local and valued newspaper.
