Most school buses in St. Albert cancelled due to cold

St. Albert Public's still running
Cold weather
Wind chill values are expected to drop to -50 C and possibly colder tonight.

Many St. Albert students will be learning from home today as three of the region’s four school divisions have cancelled bus service due to the cold.

Sturgeon Public, Greater St. Albert Catholic, and the Conseil scolaire Centre-Nord school divisions cancelled their school bus services in the St. Albert/Sturgeon County region Jan. 12 as temperatures around St. Albert hovered around -39 C. Thick ice fog had also limited visibility in parts of the city to less than half a block that morning.

St. Albert Public’s buses were still in operation.

The Gazette will have more on the impacts of these cancellations later today.
