The annual Saturday show'n'shine that caps St. Albert's Rock'n August week is still going ahead for now, but all other events associated with the festival have been cancelled.

On April 17, Rock'n August board president Bill Isley posted a statement to the festival's website announcing the cancellation of all events from Tuesday, Aug. 4, to Friday, Aug. 7, leading up to the show'n'shine.

"The offering of the Saturday show is still subject to any legislation that emerges that could impact public gatherings," Isley wrote. "The final decision on the Saturday event will be made at the June 17th board meeting. We will be in a better position, at that time, to make the final call."

"We are extremely proud of, and grateful for, the support of our local major sponsors who continue to support our week-long event in any way they can, but who are also feeling the impact of an economy in turmoil. We look forward to working with them next year."
