A city man missing since before Christmas is dead, according to people close to him.
A friend of Alberto Peter Servellini, 29, who did not want to be named, confirmed his death.
In a brief media release issued Feb. 5, Cpl. Laurel Kading stated police are no longer looking for Servellini, and thanked the community for tips and assistance in this case.
“Out of respect for the privacy of the family no further information is being released on this investigation,” she wrote.
Multiple sources have confirmed to the St. Albert Gazette that Servellini’s body was found in the Edmonton river valley near the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald and an autopsy is pending. Edmonton Police Services would not comment on any investigation relating to that incident.
