There were a lot of things I didn't know about the University of Alberta's Augustana Campus. Sure, I knew it was in Camrose, not far from Edmonton. It was a smaller place to study with a lot of programs that sounded interesting. I had a lot to learn!
Augustana is a liberal arts and sciences faculty of the University of Alberta, one of Canada's Top five universities. Every program includes a range of subjects that teach students how to think critically, research effectively, and communicate with ease. I'll graduate with a flexible degree that can be used in many different ways – perfect for an ever-changing job market.
It's easy to get to know my professors, especially with one for every 16 students here at Augustana. I can research with them, land volunteer work in an area I love, or travel abroad with them to places like Cuba, India, or Germany for course credit.
Since Augustana guarantees a spot in residence, I'm meeting people from all over the world. I have friends taking majors in management, fine arts, humanities, sciences, and social sciences – Augustana has more than 30 different areas of study. Lots of my friends are doing pre-professional studies on their way to medicine, education, law, or graduate programs like physical therapy.
One of the big reasons I chose Augustana was because they helped me fund my education. About one-third of us receive scholarships each year, and Augustana gives out more than $425,000 annually. That's not even counting the U of A Student Awards program!
So what have you got to lose? Check out Augustana's beautiful campus. Be part of one of the best universities in Canada, with state-of-the-art facilities, friendly people, and amazing experiences – in a place that can help you jump start an incredible future.
