Cathy Heron takes the lead in St. Albert's mayoral race

Incumbent Mayor Cathy Heron has pulled ahead in the mayoral race after five polling stations have reported.

Incumbent Mayor Cathy Heron has pulled ahead in the mayoral race after five polling stations have reported. 

Angela Wood was previously in the lead, but is now in second place with 3,490 votes while Heron has 3,566 votes. 

Bob Russell has 972 votes and David Letourneau has 1,240 votes. 

As for council candidates, incumbent Sheena Hughes, incumbent Ken Mackay, newcomer Mike Killick, incumbent Wes Brodhead, newcomer Shelly Biermanski, and incumbent Natalie Joly are currently leading the pack for council seats. 

Five polling stations represent 41.7 per cent of the vote, out of a total of 12 polling stations.
