New martial arts studio opening soon
A new martial arts studio is coming to town.
Arashi-Do Martial Arts plans to open a martial arts studio in Riel Park in September once renovations to the building interior are complete.
The studio will be located at 135 44 Riel Drive in St. Albert.
An exact opening date has not been set yet, but the dojo is currently building interest lists for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing and fitness classes for all ages.
Fitness classes will consist of what professor Tyson LaRone called "fast fitness" – 30-minute strength training circuits based on kettlebell, body-weight and suspension exercises that are good for all fitness levels.
Those interested can contact LaRone at [email protected] or call at 780-217-0059. A schedule is being finalized and will be posted on the Arashi-Do website within the next week.
Arashi-Do Martial Arts has been providing martial arts instruction in Alberta for nearly thirty years. It has dojos all over the province, including three in Edmonton.
LaRone, who currently teaches at the Edmonton north location on St. Albert Trail, said there is a huge appetite for martial arts in St. Albert and that with more and more young families moving into the area it was only natural to expand north.
