UPDATE
St. Albert RCMP issued a media release late Aug. 16 saying Nassir Gibert was arrested without incident. He remained in police custody, with a hearing pending hearing. RCMP have indicated an update will follow.
St. Albert RCMP said Aug. 15 they charged one man and hope to identify another man who are alleged to have threatened people with guns at a bush party last weekend.
The suspect who's been identified is St. Albert resident Nassir Gibert, 19. Police have not yet located Gibert. They advise he should be considered armed and dangerous. Police have yet to identify the second suspect.
Police responded to the bush party, located at the end of Veness Road at the northeast corner of the Campbell Business Park, shortly after midnight on Saturday, Aug. 13. Police couldn't find the people with guns, but they shut down the bush party and sent about 100 people home.
Morinville RCMP, the RCMP Dog Service Unit and the Edmonton police helicopter were among the agencies who assisted St. Albert police.
Police say witnesses reported one of the suspects had a long-barrelled gun and another had a handgun at the party. Police say the suspect with the handgun allegedly pointed it at people and threatened them.
Gibert is charged with several counts of uttering threats, several weapons charges and several breaches of recognizance.
Anyone who knows the location of either suspect, or has any other information about this incident is asked to call St. Albert RCMP at 780-458-7700 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
The investigation is ongoing. Police say victims of the traumatic incident have been connected with St. Albert Victim Services.
