The annual Alberta Municipalities convention and trade show got underway today at the Edmonton Convention Centre.
Alberta Municipalities, which St. Albert's Mayor Cathy Heron is the outgoing president of, is an advocacy organization that represents municipal interests to higher levels of government.
During each annual convention, municipal leaders vote on new or renewed advocacy initiatives, network, and participate in educational sessions.
The convention wraps up on Friday afternoon.
