The St. Albert RCMP is encouraging people to help build safer and more connected neighbourhoods in 2025 by joining the Alberta Community Crime Prevention Association (ACCPA).
Established in 1989, the RCMP says that the ACCPA has played a vital role in connecting rural and urban communities, law enforcement, and agencies to promote education and awareness around crime prevention across Alberta. Their mission is to ensure safety through active community engagement, and the RCMP says that ACCPA empowers residents to work together and take an active role in community safety and well-being.
The RCMP says law enforcement alone can't address the complex challenges communities face. They add that organizations like ACCPA are key in fostering citizen involvement, providing valuable resources, and building partnerships that can lead to meaningful change.
Members of ACCPA gain access to discounts on conferences, speaker series, and resources, along with opportunities to engage in local crime prevention initiatives and earn voting rights within the organization.
