Go big or go home: that’s pretty much the mantra for The Who, one of the world’s most iconic and untameable rock bands.

The incredible rockers have announced a 29-day Moving On! Tour. It launches May 7 at Grand Rapids Van Andel Arena and wraps up Oct. 23 at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

Supporting Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend on stage are guitarist and backup singer Simon Townshend, keyboardist Loren Gold, bassist Jon Button and drummer Zak Starkey.

A local orchestra will complement these fierce rockers every night of the tour.

Daltrey stated, “Be aware, Who fans. Just because it’s The Who with an orchestra, in no way will it compromise the way Pete and I deliver our music. This will be full throttle Who with horns and bells on.”

Although a full set list is still a work in progress, the band signalled they would like to play selections from Tommy to honour its 50th anniversary. In addition, they will play tunes from Quadrophenia and other hits from their catalogue.

The Who will release a studio album later this year. The album will be their first collection of new songs in 13 years since 2006's Endless Wire.

Tickets range from $53 to $304 plus service charges and will go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. Call 1-855-985-500 or online at www.ticketmaster.ca
