Daniel Lanois, an internationally influential Canadian singer-songwriter, producer and recording artist is making his debut at the Arden Theatre on Friday, Oct. 10.
Known for dreamy soundscapes in rock, ambient and folk music, Lanois is celebrated for pushing sonic boundaries that blend organic instrumentation with studio experiments.
He is largely admired for collaborations with icons such as U2, Peter Gabriel, Emmylou Harris, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, and Bob Dylan.
In the past decade he struck gold with the rhythmically complex Flesh & Machine and Goodbye to Language, two albums that create weightless soundscapes.
Now residing in California, the artist has won seven Grammy Awards and several Juno nominations. In 2005, he was inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame and in 2013, Lanois received the Governor-General's Award in the Performing Arts.
Tickets for the Oct. 10 concert are $67.50 and are available online at tickets.stalbert.ca or by calling 780-459-1542.
