Muff-Anne York-Haley of Stony Plain checks out the No Beginning No End art show on display at St. Albert Centre on Monday. The art was created by students from both the St. Albert Public School District and the Greater St. Albert Catholic School District and the exhibit runs Feb 22-March 1 with proceeds from all sales going to help support Youth Empowerment and Support Services.


Art Gallery of St. Albert

Reconciling Edmonton is an art exhibit produced by RISE – Reconciliation in Solidarity Edmonton. It is a collaboration between Métis poet Anna Marie Sewell, historian and writer Danielle Metcalfe-Chenail, visual artist Jennie Vegt and cultural connector Miranda Jimmy. Free exhibition tour will take place starting at 12:05 p.m. on Thursday, March 21. Until Saturday, March 30. A supplemental event focusing on the exhibit, RISE, and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission will also take place on March 16.

St. Albert Public Library

In continuing its support of ArtWalk, the library will now have new exhibits of work on its walls rotating monthly throughout the year. This month’s exhibit features works by a group of artists from the St. Albert Painters’ Guild including Alexsandra Mitchell, Tracy Lyn Propp and Laurena Beirnes. Until Thursday, Feb. 28.

The Indigenous Artist Market Collective offers authentic, locally handcrafted works by three or four Indigenous artists at its booth every Saturday at the Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market, which has moved from its summer outdoor setting to inside Edmonton City Hall (on the north side of Churchill Square) every Saturday until May 11. Recent feature artists included Jeannette Sommers, Krista Leddy and Darlene Logan. The market runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday. www.city-market.ca

The Mayor's Celebration of the Arts Awards ceremony starts at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, at the Enjoy Centre. Tickets range from $15 to $25 and can be purchased via Ticketmaster. The event kicks off the three-day Night of Artists XXII, a cultural celebration of visual and performing arts. The weekend includes galas, live performances, a magazine launch, an art battle and paint parties, an indoor art walk and other special events. www.nightofartists.com
