Musée Héritage Museum

The Michel Band focuses on the family, the injustice and the perseverance of a local Aboriginal band that was the only First Nation in Canada forced to enfranchise but, in doing so, lost their Aboriginal and treaty rights. YEG Canvas

The Edmonton Arts Council's third annual public art project shows on various billboard and LRT poster locations throughout the capital city, featuring 135 artworks by 107 artists including David Scott. Spruce Grove-St. Albert MLA Constituency Office

MLA Trevor Horne is once again hosting an art exhibit in his Spruce Grove-St. Albert Constituency office. Artists are from the Art 30 class at Spruce Grove Composite High School and they created a series of works highlighting Indigenous issues in Canada. Spazio Performativo

In conjunction with a special event put on by Mile Zero Dance, photographer Candace Makowichuk has an exhibit of some of her new  works from her artist residency with the City of Edmonton Cemeteries. How to Say Goodbye: An Obituary for Canadian History is a special event this weekend featuring performances by Nicole Marie Schafenacker and Ashley Johnson, Mpoe Mogale, Brandon Wint, Adesewa Adeleye, and Lebogang Disele, Lady Vanessa Cardona, Bridget Jessome, and Bad Buddy. The event starts at 8 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are free but donations are welcome and all proceeds will be given to the Bissell Centre. Makowichuk also has art on display at Mile Zero Dance until Sat., Jan. 20, 2018.
