POURTRAITS is an evening art show featuring unique portraits done in a wide range of styles from surrealism to expressionism. There will be live painting plus crowd painting and door prizes with a live DJ. A portion of art sales will go to One for Another International to provide surgeries for children in Africa. Alberta Culture Days takes place during the weekend of Friday, Sept. 30 to Sunday, Oct. 2 at many points around the province including St. Albert and Morinville. The St. Albert Paint Party, a combination of painting and socializing on a soccer pitch, as led by Tyler Dianocky of Art After Dark. It will be held on Friday, Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Tudor Glen South Field House of Servus Place, 400 Campbell Rd. The St. Albert Place Visual Arts Council is also hosting a hands-on bookmaking workshop in the Quilting Studios in St. Albert Place. That will be on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Includes demonstrations by the Floral Arts Society, the St. Albert Painters Guild, St. Albert Potters Guild, and the St. Albert Quilters’ Guild.
