St. Albert singer Hannah Adamson, 10, along with three Edmonton hopefuls are hosting a benefit concert to raise money to compete at the World Championships of Performing Arts this summer in Long Beach, California.

Adamson, Alecs Battista, Cheenee Morales and Qrtny Cantado have dubbed themselves ‘The Dream Chasers” for the Believe It, Live It, Love It concert on April 21 at Gateway Alliance Church.

Costs to attend the nine-day event running July 6 to July 10 are several thousand dollars per person. The singers are hoping to offset those costs with a benefit concert.

The concert starts at 6 p.m., at 13931 – 140 St. Tickets are $25 adults, $15 youth and free for children 10 and under. For tickets call 780-651-6558 or email [email protected].

Pretty Goblins

With the upcoming legalization of marijuana, the talk of addiction has ramped up in several sectors. And while cannabis is less addictive than hard drugs, it is a springboard to relevant discussion.

In an insightful choice, Workshop West Playwrights' Theatre is mounting the world premiere of Beth Graham’s Pretty Goblins.

Directed by Brian Dooley, Graham tackles the issues of addiction through the story of twin sisters that are hit with tragedy. One sister follows the path of addiction while the other is fated to watch her beloved twin spiral into a mess.

Throughout this deeply raw and intimate story, their devotion to each other never wavers.

The two-hander features Nadien Chu as Laura and Miranda Allen as Lizzie.

Pretty Goblins runs April 18 to 29 at the Backstage Theatre, 10330 – 84 Ave. Tickets are $25 adults, $22.50 students/seniors. Suitable for ages 16 plus.
