Honkytonks & Dive Bar Tour
Platinum selling recording artist Gord Bamford is on the move once more. He just announced the Honkytonks & Dive Bar Tour starting in Calgary on Oct. 17.He’ll hit 29 cities from coast-to-coast with a stop at Edmonton’s Cook County Saloon on Oct. 18. Supporting the Lacombe-based country star is JoJo Mason.
“Honkytonks and dive bars are where I cut my teeth in this business and fell in love with country music and performing. It’s where I feel right at home,” said Bamford.
One of the most awarded artists in Canadian country music, he has spent the last 20 years honing his craft. His eighth studio album, Neon Smoke, became a favourite after its release earlier this year.

Goodvin at Horizon Stage
If you missed Aaron Goodvin’s performance at Big Valley Jamboree, the celebrated country recording artist returns to his roots on Friday, Sept. 14, at Spruce Grove’s Horizon Stage Performing Arts Centre.Originally from Spirit River, the singer-songwriter spent his teenage years in St. Albert and developed a regional reputation as a dynamic performer.
After moving to Nashville, where he now resides permanently, Goodvin has scored major league songs, writing Luke Bryan’s Out Like That and opening 29 dates for Gord Bamford on his Neon Smoke cross-Canada tour.
Goodvin has also enjoyed three consecutive Top 40 hits: Woman in Love, Lonely Drum and Miss Me Yet.

Musical theatre auditions
Phoenix Tales Productions, a three-year-old St. Albert musical theatre company, is holding auditions for its annual production Mary Poppins, Jr.Students in grades 7 to 10 are encouraged to come for tryouts at Red Willow Place (home of the St. Albert Senior Citizens Association) at 7 Taché St.
