It's 1963 and the first woman cosmonaut, Valentina Tereshkova, is launched into space on a solo mission and returns safely.In the middle of scientific innovation and the ongoing civil rights movement, 12-year old Genevieve, the only girl in a large religious French family, wants to be an alter server at church.
However, Father Paul gives her the bad news – girls are not allowed to help serve mass. Genevieve prays to God for a miracle to change the rules.
And when altar-boy Martin casually disappears on his way home from school, Genevieve wonders if her prayers were answered, but in a terrible way.
The Northern Light Theatre is running playwright Cat Walsh's Do This in Memory of Me/En Mémoire de moi from March 14 to 25 at La Cité Francophone. Directed by Trevor Schmidt, the play features Nicole St. Martin, Brian Dooley and Steve Jodoin.

Dance for diabetes
St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner and this year Dash Rip Rock is firing up their guitars for the sixth annual Spring Fling.As a dedicated member of St. Albert's Cosmopolitan Club, Dash Rip Rock leader Micheal Cearns is on a drive to raise more funds for diabetes research. So far these concerts have raised $20,000 for Edmonton Protocol Islet Transplants.
The concert starts off with an hour of roots music performed by Matthew Potter followed by two hours of raging rock and roll.
"We're proud to contribute to the diabetes foundation and the good work that they do," said Cearns. "St. Albert has always been very supportive and it's time to get together for a good cause."
The concert is on Saturday, March 17 at 7 p.m. at the St. Albert Community Hall, 17 Perron St. Admission is $25 and includes a late lunch.
