The Outsider Tour

Multi-platinum certified band Three Days Grace just confirmed a 16-date The Outsider Tour across their native Canada in support of their sixth album, Outsider.

The group will perform in major cities including Edmonton’s Shaw Conference Centre on Wednesday, Dec. 12.

“To me, Outsider represents the journey to find your place,” says bass player Brad Waist. “The world feels crazy at times. We try to get away from that every once in a while. We do our own thing, and we’re comfortable doing it. We have always looked forward, not backwards. That’s an ongoing theme.”

The rock band just released Infra-red, a new single followup to their 14th No. 1 chart-topping single Mountain.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, July 20, at 10 a.m. local time and are available through www.ticketmaster.ca.

Deported World Tour

International comedy superstar Russell Peters just announced a return to his home and native land as part of his brand new Deported World Tour this fall.

Peters, who returns to live touring after taking time off to film his hit CTV/Netflix series, The Indian Detective, will appear at Rogers Place on Friday, Nov. 9.

Using his East Indian heritage and Canadian upbringing as a conduit for comedy, Peters has built a career as one of the world’s biggest comics, selling out arenas such as Madison Square Garden and the Sydney Opera House.

A public sale of tickets begins Friday, July 20, at 10 a.m. through www.ticketmaster.ca.

Aussies rack up blues

Now on their sixth Canadian tour fresh from a European stint, the Mason Rack Band returns to LB’s Pub on July 20 and 21.

One of Australia’s hardest working bands, reigning from the Gold Coast, the trio is a blues-rock legend that conjures up fans wherever they perform.

Not only is Mason Rack a multi-instrumentalist who can play an style of music, his fans describe his raspy vocals as one of “the sexiest voices in the blues music scene.”

The band has a reputation for performing crazy antics. In some Australian bars, they’ve stripped down naked at show’s end and strategically placed hats over their privates before very carefully shimmying off stage.

While the merry threesome may not strip down to their skivvies at LB’s Pub, their pranks never disappoint. Showtime is 9 p.m. LB’s is at 23 Akins Dr.
