Alberta Ballet's new portrait ballet, All of Us, is powered by the iconic music of Gord Downie and the Tragically Hip. This post-apocalyptic tale runs at Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium May 10 to 12.

All of Us

The Tragically Hip and Gord Downie’s distinctive voice form the tracks of Alberta Ballet’s new work All of Us. It debuts at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium May 10 to 12.

Artistic director Jean Grand Maître has choreographed a powerful, post-apocalyptic story striving to create strong images ranging from pure beauty to dark brutality.

Backed by 20 iconic songs throughout The Hip’s lifetime, it tells the story of a post-nuclear holocaust clash between two rival gangs in the classic good-versus-evil style.

But even in this ruined world, some of the best traits of humanity, such as love and hope continue to exist. It suggests even in the most crushing times, we can conquer our worst practices.

Tickets for All of Us start at $57. Visit www.ticketmaster.ca.

Davina Stewart, Genevieve Edwards, Andrea House and Dana Andersen make up the wholesome cast of this one hour and 45-minute show (includes intermission).

Yer Mum’s Favourite Radio Show runs May 12 at 7:30 p.m. and May 13 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $27 to $29. Visit www.fortedmontonpark.ca.
