Neon Smoke tour
Gord Bamford recently announced his Neon Smoke coast-to-coast tour. The international country music star starts his 20-date tour on Jan. 24 in Brampton, Ontario and ends it March 2 in Kelowna, British Columbia before heading off to Australia.
Geographically, Bamford's closest concert to St. Albert is a Fort Saskatchewan stop at the Dow Centennial Centre Shell Theatre on Feb. 20. Bamford's special guest throughout the tour is former St. Albert singer-songwriter Aaron Goodvin.
Originally from Spirit River, Goodvin spent a half-dozen years in St. Albert before moving to Nashville. Goodvin's debut single
Knock on Wood was a Top 40 hit on Canadian country radio. It opened the door for the Top 10 follow up smash hits
Woman in Love and certified gold single
Lonely Drum.

Sister Act
MacEwan University's Faculty of Fine Arts and Communication gears up for an action-packed season at the new Allard Hall with
Sister Act, the Broadway version of Whoopi Goldberg's 1992 hit film of the same name.
Directed by Jim Guedo, with choreography from St. Albert's Jackie Pooke,
Sister Act features original music from eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (
Beauty and the Beast,
Little Shop of Horrors).
Wannabe disco diva Deloris van Cartier sees a murder and can identify the culprits. She is placed in protective custody at a convent that guarantees anonymity. But Deloris is at odds with the rigid life and uses her brassy charm to give the church a face-lift.
Filled with gospel, disco and retro ’70s music,
Sister Act runs Nov. 22 to Dec. 2. For tickets call 780-420-1757 or online: http://www.tixonthesquare.ca.
