Elton John’s farewell tour
When Sir Elton John announced he was retiring from touring in January, entertainment pundits weren’t sure what to make of it. Was this for real? Was it a publicity stunt? Was his health failing? But the legendary musician is quite serious. He’s even added 10 additional Canadian concerts to the upcoming 300-date 2019 Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour. The Rocket Man will perform two nights in Edmonton on Sept. 27 and 28, 2019, at Rogers Place.
In a media release, promoter Jay Marciano said, “Just as he promised his millions of fans, it’s more than just an unforgettable performance of the most iconic and loved music of his career. It’s a look back at all our lives and how Elton John’s music has been interwoven into the social, political and cultural history of our world.”
