Def Leppard Canadian tour
Back in the ’70s and ’80s, they were the mega band of a new wave of British heavy metal. One of the biggest commercial successes of all time, selling more than 100 million records, Def Leppard continues to build on that legendary status.
The fivesome just announced an 11-date all Canadian tour from Halifax to Calgary with special guests Tesla. And they’ll be hitting the deck at Rogers Place on July 29.
Best known for albums, Pyromania and Hysteria, the quintet will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March alongside The Cure, Janet Jackson, Stevie Nicks, Radiohead, Roxy Music and The Zombies.

Paul Brandt tour
Following the release of The Journey BNA Volume 2, country singer-songwriter Paul Brandt is setting out on 20-stop tour from British Columbia to Ontario.The Canadian country superstar is playing Rogers Place on Saturday, Feb. 2, with special guests High Valley. Once Upon a Frost
Festival Players is ramping up their theatrical presentations with an in-house musical written and directed by Michael Clarke, music director of Edmonton Pops Orchestra.Once Upon a Frost: A New Musical, running until Thursday, Jan. 17, at Sherwood Park’s Festival Place, follows the tale of Elly, a shop owner who has a brush with Jack Frost.
In this magical tale where the universe’s rules are upended, Jack visits Elly’s shop and loses his power to bring winter. The only option to get the magic back is to do a good deed and help Elly save her shop from permanently closing.
Bellerose High alumnus Keat Machtemes is on board as musical director.
