St. Albert Children’s Theatre alumnus Bridget Ryan has jumped into the theatre season with her special brand of cabaret entertainment.
Also host of CityTV’s Dinner Television, Ryan delivers Under the Influence, a 10-night revue starting tomorrow evening at the Backstage Theatre next to the ATB Financial Arts Barns.
Under the Influence explores exactly what the term means through Ryan’s magical blend of part musical theatre and part stand-up comedy.
Having spent seven years in New York City’s cabaret scene, she has an intimate knowledge of the Broadway canon with a repertoire that exceeds 70 musicals.
She will take listeners on a journey that chronicles music through the ages from ’80s and ’90s pop, power rock and tight jazz harmonies.
Joining her is pianist Jen McMillan, drummer Andrew Miller and bassist Daniel Sedmak.
Ryan is performing a special Elections Night show on Tuesday, Nov. 8 where tickets are two for one, and Thursday, Nov. 10 is a fundraiser for the Edmonton Food Bank.
Tickets are available at 780-409-1919, online at fringetheatre.ca or at the door.

Featuring the grandest of production details, this is an opportunity to see Sir Ben Stevenson’s renowned choreography paired with Franz Liszt’s impeccable score.
And it all springs to life with Alberta Ballet’s best dancers performing at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium on Nov. 4 and 5.
