Toy Guns Dance Theatre invites you to slip on your dancing shoes, your spookiest costume and get those happy feet dancing at a Halloween Dance Party on Saturday, Oct. 29.

In addition to dance lessons, Jake Hastey of Toy Guns Dance and Hit That Jive Dance Crew will rev up their engine for a 1930s corpse dance.

The costumed beauties of the Miss Behavin’s Chorus Girls will also put to use their sassy skills in a burlesque style performance (all with a Halloween twist).

The party takes place at Foot Notes Dance Studio, 9708 – 45 Ave. Admission is $25 students and $30 for non-students. Admission discount for ticket purchase before Oct. 28. Visit toygunstheatre.com.

The French language theatre company’s first show of the season premieres Caroline Rouleau’s new play Perception.

Directed by Brian Dooley, this production is about the evolution and eventual unravelling of a four-year relationship.

Both Alex and Charles are frightened of extreme co-dependency and abandon themselves completely to each other. But in their fear, they produce two distinctly different viewpoints of marriage.

English surtitles. Perception runs Oct. 26 to 29 and Nov. 2 to 5. Tickets range from $15 to $28. Visit lunitheatre.ca.

Northern Light Theatre, one of Edmonton’s most dynamic companies, celebrates its 41st season with Sister, Sister, a viciously comedic reunion between two sisters after their mother’s untimely death.

For Dirdra and Janice their mother’s death is a wonderfully twisted day. They’re planning a celebration and hopefully nothing will fly out the window including one of them.

Sister, Sister runs Oct. 28 to Nov. 5 at the PCL Studio in the ATB Financial Arts Barns, 10330 – 84 Ave.

Tickets range from $20 to $25 plus GST. Two-for-one tickets on Tuesday and discounted Saturday matinees. Visit northernlighttheatre.com.
