Big Valley Jamboree, Alberta’s biggest and hottest country music festival slated to run in July 2021, has been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This is the second year the Camrose-based music and camping festival has been cancelled.

The festival attracts the majority of its celebrity talent from south of the 49th parallel. However, the rise of variants and uncertainty of border closures forced organizers to implement maximum precautions.

“This is not the news that our fans want to hear or the news that we want to deliver,” said Big Valley Jamboree CEO Troy Vollhoffer. “But, as we have learned, given these extenuating circumstances, the decision-making process is completely out of our hands.”

He noted the uncertainty for large-scale festival-size gatherings, safe coronavirus protocols and travel restrictions were just a few of the major challenges organizers faced in planning this event which typically takes well over a year to build.

Plans are underway to return July 29 to 31, 2022. All tickets will be automatically honoured for next year’s country music festival. For up-to-date information visit bigvalleyjamboree.com
