St. Albert city council spent roughly a third of its time meeting in private, according to data collected by the Gazette based on publicly available council meeting minutes.

The federal leadership debate takes place on Sept. 9, 7 to 9 p.m. and will be televised across the country. St. Albert voters can hear from local candidates at the Chamber's virtual forum on Sept. 13, 7 to 9 p.m.

There are currently 15,486 active cases in the province, with 602 people in the hospital and 137 in intensive care. Another 17 Albertans lost their lives to the virus, bringing the total deaths during the pandemic to 2,407. 

Crews have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
