The union held a strike mandate vote for the first time in 17 years in October of 2022, with results of 96-97% in favour of holding a strike. Union Local 1944 President, Donna Hokiro, said after just one offer, Telus walked away from the table, halting negotiations.

St. Albert city council will have to wait until at least April before being able to debate the proposed municipal naming policy again, although Mayor Cathy Heron says she doesn't expect the policy will see many changes before being passed.

St. Albert city council passed an amendment to the city's Business License Bylaw on Feb. 21 that allows local cannabis shop to have clear store windows, bringing the city in-line with provincial regulations.
