Defeated UCP candidate Angela Wood says she can't commit or comment on another run at municipal politics come 2025.

“I’m super excited and incredibly grateful to the people of St. Albert for voting for me,” St. Albert incumbent Marie Renaud said Monday night.

Four-term Sturgeon County councillor Karen Shaw has 8,987 votes counted so far, giving Nally 52 per cent of the vote and leaving Shaw with 42 per cent of the vote. 

The UCP's Angela Wood has 9,247 votes with 16 of 19 polls reporting. The NDP's Marie Renaud has 13,668 votes so far.

With 13 out of 19 polls reporting, the UCP's Angela Wood has 4,706 votes with the NDP's Marie Renaud pulling in 6,467 votes. Woods has roughly 41 per cent of the vote so far and Renaud has roughly 57 per cent of the vote.

Renaud has 3,086 votes cast for her so far with the UCP's Angela Wood pulling in 2,098 votes. Cameron Jefferies with the Green Party of Alberta has 76 votes so far.

Only two of 20 polls are reporting so far

Currently, incumbent NDP MLA Marie Renaud is in the lead in the St. Albert riding with 1,373 votes counted for her so far. The UCP's Angela Wood has 802 votes, with two out of 19 polls reporting so far. 

The UCP's Dale Nally has earned 1,235 votes out of the 1,969 votes reported so far in the race, or 62.7 per cent of the votes cast. The NDP's Karen Shaw has 669 votes so far, or 34 per cent of the votes cast.

St. Albert's youth and seniors' advisory committees are looking to be more involved in city decision making moving forward, as both of the committee's future will be decided by council next month.
