Highway 5 will reopen to commercial traffic and buses

Nine outstanding Albertans have been recognized at the 2021 Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards.

"We will face curriculum implementation by staggering subjects starting this fall," Education Minister Adriana LaGrange said at a news conference Monday.

Respondents on the Prairies were most inclined to drop the subject and “say it's fine," according to the poll findings.

“I like to do my part to try and protect the wildlife, particularly the grizzly bears. It’s been an amazing experience,” said Canmore's Gerry Hurley.

“This pack has been quite secretive all summer and into fall compared to their usual habits and they’ve been rather wary, which is a really good thing,” said Blair Fyten, a human-wildlife coexistence specialist with Banff National Park.

“Parks Canada has made a mockery of its so-called core planning values of transparency and science-based decision-making. “It needs to rescind this latest policy change, go back to the drawing board and give this issue the public scrutiny it deserves," said Reg Bunyan, vice-president of Bow Valley Naturalists.
