I have read some recent comments in your paper pertaining to traffic control signals in St. Albert ... and they are bang on! The lack of any thought process on how signals operate is evident everywhere in St. Albert. This is particularly noticeable on feeder routes where lights in succession change as if they were deliberately set to impede traffic flow. Many are set for long crosswalk phases when there are no pedestrians involved ... or cross traffic waiting! Multiple lights around any shopping facilities are guaranteed idling zones in St. Albert.
As residents we probably won’t see any improvement either in the future as our engineering department and city council are far too involved in wasting our tax dollars on changing parallel parking to angle and then back to parallel in the downtown district! Mindless madness prevails.
