I would like to say how moved I was by the funeral procession for RCMP Const. David Wynn. It was the most sad and tragic thing I have ever seen, while at the same time being amazing and beautiful. It was a memory my family and I will never forget, and we hope to never see again.
I kept my two girls home from school and my husband came home from work so we could honour this man who gave his life protecting the people of St. Albert, and show support and gratitude to his family. We went to the funeral procession and then watched the funeral on TV and I'm convinced they learned more than they ever could have in school that day.
The one thing that I was disappointed in was the lack of people lining the procession route, for a city of more than 60,000 people, where was everyone? I expected to be standing 10 people deep, I can't imagine there was anywhere else more important to be at noon this past Monday.
