Fort McMurray had a disaster plan. It was, and still is a bad one.
The St. Albert disaster plan, if there is one, should be made public by printing at least the evacuation plan in the Gazette. We the public (John Doe) need to see the plan; I need to see the plan. It is not in my nature to wait around until somebody somewhere makes up their mind about what I’m supposed to do.
As far as I know, the fire chief in St. Albert is the main person in a disaster. I would think their main duty should be concentrated on fire. I want that position changed. The concern that brings me to voice my opinion this week is the increasing number of low-flying helicopters over the city and in particular, Northridge.
I want the person in charge of safety in the city to see the danger of having these flying pieces of junk constantly over the city and fix it. In case they need a hint, just go around St. Albert. Too simple. Less danger, eh?
