So even before I read the latest article in the Gazette, I had already seen the corner sidewalk marked with the “new” colourful paint. I could not believe my eyes. All I could think was, “What a huge waste of taxpayer funds.” Now reading about it, I see that this waste is confirmed. $53K? And this is the money that they are telling us about ... not to mention the costs that will be incurred down the road.
City council here's an idea: Take the money next time and maybe give it to some in need, like maybe the food bank.
But no, they had to do their “branding” of the city. Does anyone else in the city know what the hell that means? You want to put up signs that say Cultivate Life, I’m not sure how that applies to anyone.
Did council forget that we live in Canada? What is all this prettiness going to become covered with for more than half the year? Or in their narrow mindedness did they already forget that winter is coming. Here's a newsflash for you, it’s coming next year too. Branding?
