Welcome the new leaders

Re: Some voters should have stayed home, St. Albert Gazette, May 16.

So, it turns out that not only is the PC Party of Alberta incredibly arrogant, but their voters are too! Before the election, PC Party members and big business representatives were telling us not to vote NDP or our lives would be over as we know it. After the election, embarrassed, defeated and angry PC voters are telling Alberta that we are all stupid for voting NDP and that we have ruined the province. I wish you all would shut up already! We can all vote for who we choose, and obviously the former government was more interested in fattening their wallets and those of their friends than listening to regular Albertans, and after getting so unbelievably pompous, pushy and self serving, the people of Alberta were tired of being slapped in the face and sent them packing.

Let these newly elected people prove themselves, give them a chance to do their jobs before you jump on them. So far, I have heard them enthusiastically say that they cannot wait to try and help Alberta, which seems much better than the old regime that was so sickeningly smug. Change is good and was needed very badly. I welcome the new leaders of Alberta. Good luck.

Donald McQuarrie, St. Albert
