“We the People” of St. Albert elected six councillors and one mayor just over a year ago.
We chose all of you on the basis of integrity, leadership and stewardship.
We put our trust in you.
As I read David Merritt’s call for an impartial investigation of Mayor Crouse’s financial issues (Gazette, Oct. 25), I concur 100 per cent. His and my concerns are legitimate and valid. Frankly, it is impossible to excuse his actions re: double-billing and CRB payments to his private company.
I expect the mayor of St. Albert to lead by example. To be trustworthy and transparent. To be honourable. In my view, Mayor Crouse, your credibility has taken a big tumble. One recent example: On Oct. 20 during council meeting, you spoke disrespectfully and angrily to councillors Hughes and MacKay.
How dare they do a fact-finding search into your financial records which should have been public in the first place. They had an obligation to disclose that information. We had a right to know.
The truth is “out there.” “We the people” need the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. So help us God.
L. Delage, St. Albert
