Attracted by the advertising we thought we would spend the day visiting St. Albert, specifically the farmers market. We also made a point of checking out the botanical gardens.
We decided to take doggy along, our seven pound shitzu. We arrived at the botanical gardens and were greeted by a no dogs sign. Oh well, on to the farmers market. We were there for about three minutes before a worker approached us and told us no dogs allowed.
I find it strange that Edmonton started allowing dogs on restaurant patios yet we can't walk our dog on an outside sidewalk at an open air market. Why the paranoia? So much for St. Albert being a progressive community.
St. Albert is obviously anti-dog. We left St. Albert without spending one dime in the community and will not return.
