Re: Bryan Corbett’s letter (Gazette, May 31)
My thoughts are we are a great city, we have moved forward in leaps and bounds.
I highly suspect that 50 per cent of all seniors and families have quite a tight budget and there are many who don't want a increase in taxes.
Not all citizens who reside here are privileged and have the luxury of travelling abroad with second homes. Many of us have had different upbringings with different values. Some are from old money and have a have-it-right-now attitude. I also am pretty sure if you ask some of the seniors, they themselves live frugally in certain respects to be able to travel.
Our diverse personalities in city council may be important to represent all our different issues and financial criteria of our city.
