Villeneuve Road solution should be win win

Many perspectives on the potential closing of Villeneuve Road have been shared, but not many focus on a holistic solution. This road represents different things to each of us: convenience, industry, nature, home and more.

Many perspectives on the potential closing of Villeneuve Road have been shared, but not many focus on a holistic solution. This road represents different things to each of us: convenience, industry, nature, home and more. We hope that our council weighs each of these in its decision.

I don't pretend to know the best solution, but it surely would give consideration to the positive or negative impact on each of these community elements.

Traffic should flow easily. Gridlock where Villeneuve meets St. Albert Trail does not accomplish this. St. Albert is foremost a place to live, and residents' comfort should be respected. If Villeneuve Road does not close, the residents deserve the beautification and noise levels that they equally pay for and we all enjoy. This means no commercial vehicles, more thick healthy trees, and a living wall to help mitigate the negative impacts of a major road.
